Consists of correspondence, certificates and legal documents, drafts and published versions of writings by Samora and others, card files, charts, research notes, maps, pamphlets, posters, photographs, sound recordings, multi-media kits, and artifacts. The bulk of the material dates from the 1940s through the mid-1980s and reflects the activities of Julian Samora as a scholar, educator, and consultant. Materials relating to numerous boards and commissions on which Samora served also appear, notably the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, National Advisory Committee on Rural Poverty, a Census advisory committee, MALDEF, and Southwest Council of La Raza.
